It seems that certain people have some sort of problem with me expressing my opinion. To me, this shows the silliness and cowardice of these couple of anonymous haters. They lash out at my comments with vulgarities and insults, showing the smallness of their minds....If they truly believe what they are saying, than they should state why they think my comment is wrong, instead of flailing about trying to attack me.....By allying themselves with this sort of foolishness, certain public officials, are truly violating the public trust. It is pretty obivious to me that the same one or two people are the ones that post these cowardly attack comments as replies to my comments....to those cowards who attack behind a cloak of annonymity, I simply say, Grow Up...No serious minded person takes your trash talk seriously.....Oh and bringing up that I used to work for the parent company of Club Fantasy, WOW BIG NEWS!!!!! My resume is only posted online genius, I am not ashamed of my past.... Working for a multi-million dollar international company is nothing to be ashamed of.....and, I am not running for public office, nor do I work in the public sector.......So anyway, if you really have a serious problem with the stuff I write, let's sit down and talk about it face to face like adults, obviously you know who I am..........

So it has been a while since my last post.....I've been and continue to be super busy with work and family matters.....Now this week, things have happened that really caught my attention, so I thought that I would compose a quick entry to help gather my thoughts. First and most importantly, I was shocked and saddened with the events at the campus of Virginia Tech University on Monday. What can one think when you see so many young lives filled with potential killed so easily by this one troubled young kid. What was going on in his life, that caused him to perpetrate so horrible a crime, and why was there noone there to recognize the signs he was exhibiting. I was also inspired to learn of the valor and selflessness shown by the students who barricaded themselves in classrooms and in particular of Leviu Lebrescu, the professor who saved his class, by confronting the killer on his own, in order to give his students a chance to escape. It is encouraging to know that there are still people, who when confronted with evil, react with courage and honor. On a totally different note, I am feeling a little old....My little sister, of who I am immensely proud, was granted early acceptance to medical school....they grow up so fast, CONGRATS RAVEN!!!!! WOO HOO!!!!! .....So anyway, those are the things I wanted to discuss, so my friends, till my next post...........o and by the way, some people have complained that my profile picture was a little to dark for their tastes, so....I in the spririt of giving the readers what they want, and cause spring is here, decided to put up something a little more colorful. ENJOY!!! and I will have 8X10 glossies available at the next community event, probably High Steaks in July......Lol.....

The other day, I went over to visit my good friend Javi. It had been awhile since I had seen his grandfather, Popo, so I was really happy to see him there that day. He was sitting outside watching as Javi was trying to figure out what was causing a rattling noise in the back of his new SUV. Well, my good friend is very talented when it comes to mechanical things so I sat with Popo as Javi proceeded to disassemble the rear hatch of the truck. Now Mr. Cantu, and my own grandfather are pretty good friends, having grown up, as much of the elder generations of Edinburg did in those old neighborhoods, around Stephen F. Austin Elementary. So as we sat reminicing, I got to hear a coupla of good stories about times past. After a little while, Javi found the source of the rattling, a loose bracket. We were trying to figure out how to fix the problem when Javi's grampa produced a rubberband. Me and Javi looked at each other as his grandpa said,"Hand me a wrench". He fashioned kind of a rough bushing out of the rubberband and reassembled the bracket.....rattling cured....Me and Jav were all smiles. It had been a long time since I had witnessed a Grampa Rig, one of those times when no other fix will work.....I thought back to all those times when some thing was broke, and it took some wisdom and know-how to get the job done....I also remember those trips as a boy over to Beverly's hardware, to pick up some JB weld or Marvel mystery oil....lol....I remember Mr. Beverly's mean little dog, maybe getting grampa to buy me some 2 dollar knife.....and in later years when my grandfather would send me over to get him some random tool, Mr. Beverly saying, If it's for Pete, it's on the house, he never lets me give him anything...And I would sort of puff up, thinking about what kind of man my grandfather was. Well anyway, my grandfather's 84th birhtday is coming round the corner, and I wanted to kind of relive some of my memories about him tonight.....Here's to all those old guys who mean or meant so much to all of us nietos......

As I write this post, it's a chilly ( for the valley) 56.4 degrees outside.... I'm hopeful that this drop in tempature marks the beginning of our slighty less hot time of year. Back on Christmas '04 my buddy Javi and I made a very, very early morning trip to his ranch to bring extra heaters to his workers. Well we arrived in the middle of a pretty memorable party, and we stayed for a while to partake in the festivities. I don't thing I'll ever forget the way the ranch looked on that early morning, as I was outside looking around trying to get some good pictures one of the workers brought me a cup of warm mexican punch....Well anyway, me and my associates were looking for something good to sell at the Night of Lights celebration at UTPA, and I thought maybe if I could find the recipe for the punch we could do that....So I got ahold of the recipe and one of these nights were gonna make a trial batch, I'll let everyone know how it turns out, but the recipe sure sounds good.....Anyway keep your fingers crossed that the Night of Lights turns out to be a cool night so we can sell alot of our punch.....See you there.

I have the blues.....well not really, but I'm starting to get a little aggravated. About a year ago mas o menos my truck was broken into outside of my house..... This happened around mid-morning and basically the only thing of value taken was a handgun that was in my briefcase, ( I had gone to collect deposits from my business the evening before) . Well anyway, I had left out of town that morning, when my brother called me to tell me that he had discovered my truck broken into....I immediately remembered that the handgun had been left in there and told him to check if it was missing....well it was so he called the P.D. to make a report. When the officer arrived my brother let him know what was missing and the officer asked him to describe the gun. Well it turns out that the kid that broke into my truck got arrested at Walgreens, which is less than a block away from my house, so, sigh of relief, they had my gun and the thief in custody. My brother called me to let me know, and told me that the investigator would be in touch with me about the charges against the kid and recovering my property....So that was that....After a few weeks with no word, I called the police dept. and was told that these things take time so, basically, chill...the gun was there, it wasnt going anywhere .....so I was like fine, when you guys get around to it get in touch with me....Anyway months went by, and every once in a while I would think about the gun and I would call and get the same response....Then, I was told that, being that they were in the process of moving to the new station, everything was disorganized, and sorry, try back in a few weeks.....then the guy in charge of property was out for surgery, and we'll look, but sorry call back in a few weeks.....WELL FINALLY, the other day, my buddy asked me if I ever got my gun back, so I figured one more call couldnt hurt, and lo and behold I got to talk to the guy in charge of evidence and property.....Well he said he would look into the situation for me and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.....Well anyway he got back to me this afternoon, and let me know that somehow, the judge assigned to the case, awarded my gun to the lawyer of the kid as payment for his services............I just about had a coronary.......So now, apparently we have to go to court to get my gun back............I was tempted to just tell them to keep the damn thing, everytime I think about it I get so angry.......But Oh Well, Ive come this far, I guess, so why give up now.......
